Romantic minimalism by Marleen Hengeveld

Marleen was born in 1977 in Amsterdam. After graduating as a goldsmith and art historian she established AMMA Jewelry in 2003. Mostly influenced by art, antiques and history, Marleen combines age-old techniques with modern-day design. This fusion results in contemporary and timeless pieces of jewelry. They are often born out of endless motions of repetition, driven by an urge for regularity, some romance and a passion for exquisite detail. Never done learning to master the art of goldsmithing herself, Marleen also tries to pass some of her skills on to her students. The lessons are given in her studio in the Amsterdam Jordaan area.
